Full-spectrum CBD Salve

Organically-grown, full-spectrum CBD salve with 750mg of cannabinoids per fluid ounce combined with only a few simple ingredients: organic MCT oil, organic beeswax, and vitamin E oil.

We recommend applying the salve to the affected area and massaging it in. For increased absorption, subsequently apply a warm compress to give it time to absorb into your skin. CBD salve is commonly used to help with pain relief in the neck, back, elbows, knees, and any other muscles that experience soreness or pain.

About our Full-spectrum CBD Salves

What makes Akira’s CBD salves unique?

  • It’s made from organically cultivated hemp flower we grow on our pristine mountain farm.
  • Our special extraction process uses subcritical CO2 to produce a highly potent full-spectrum oil that goes beyond the industry standard to deliver the perfect cocktail of beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. We preserve this oil with organic beeswax and a small amount of vitamin E to create the ideal texture for our natural salve.
  • Our salve contains nothing but pure CBD oil, beeswax, and vitamin E.
  • We are able to offer premium quality CBD at an affordable price point. Supporting a small farm means cutting out the middle man. We pride ourselves on being able to offer the highest quality CBD at the best price.
  • We are plant people at heart. Our family farm in the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina is home to a diversified selection of medicinal herbs and produce. The integrity of our crops is everything to us.
  • We are transparent about our small batch extraction process. All of our CBD goes through a round of independent third-party testing to verify its cleanliness, purity, and strength.

Akira Botantical’s CBD salves are made with our CBD oil from hemp flower that is grown on our own farm. The flower is then dried and taken to our processor in Charlotte, NC who performs a subcritical C02 extraction to pull the various cannabinoids and terpenes from the plant matter and concentrate it into an MCT oil carrier. The oil is then combined with organic beeswax and a little bit of vitamin E to achieve a product that is easy to apply directly to the skin.

By applying a CBD salve topically, the lipids in the oil base facilitate the movement of phytochemicals across your skin membranes. As it interacts with your surrounding cells and tissues, the CBD can target the skin’s physiological mechanisms directly at the point of application.

FAQs About CBD Salve

CBD salve can be used anywhere on the body, from the neck and back to the elbows, ankles, and knees. Apply to unbroken skin only as it has the potential to irritate broken skin. One way to use CBD salve is to combine it with a warm compress, which uses the healing power of heat to potentiate the CBD’s relieving and circulation-stimulating properties. Simply rub CBD salve onto an area and apply a hot compress, heating pad, or hot water bottle to the affected area.

Applied topically, CBD salve has a relaxing and relieving effect on the musculoskeletal system and offers many medicinal benefits. It is a restorative and circulatory stimulant which counteracts the challenge of spasms, soreness, and stiffness in muscles, joints, and tissues. CBD salve is an incredibly moisturizing skincare product for dry, chapped, rashy, or irritated skin. It infuses thirsty or dull skin with antioxidants, powerful anti-inflammatory compounds, and rejuvenative protection.

Because CBD salve is made with an oil base, the lipids in the product absorb easily into the skin, creating a protective barrier that the body recognizes as a healing agent because of the endocannabinoid system. CBD salve interacts directly with the endocannabinoid system to relieve discomfort, inflammation, and a range of common complaints.

The cannabis sativa plant contains more than 100 different cannabinoids, active ingredients which are extracted into CBD oil and fill the receptor sites of the human endocannabinoid system. CB1 and CB2 are the two primary endocannabinoid receptors filled by the various cannabinoids. Cannabinoids conduct and influence a huge range of functions within our physiology, from musculoskeletal sensation to memory function to hormone regulation.

Full-spectrum CBD is whole, unaltered plant medicine. It references the synergy of CBD’s flavonoids, volatile oils, terpenes, and cannabinoids which work together to provide its well-known “entourage effect.” Full-spectrum CBD may contain no more than 0.3% THC, the mind-altering cannabinoid which produces a ‘high.’

Topical application of CBD supports healthy joints and muscles and a state of relaxation and calm. Irritated, inflamed, red, dry, and chapped skin along with myriad skin conditions can benefit from the moisturizing, relieving, and calmative properties of CBD salve.

Since our CBD salve is made with full-spectrum CBD oil, it does have a slightly ‘hempy’ smell to it. There is no way to avoid this unless we were to use CBD isolate to make our salve. CBD isolate, while totally scentless, lacks a lot of the beneficial properties of full-spectrum products and, thus, is not something we offer.

The salve itself absorbs quickly and most of our customers do not seem to mind the light hemp scent; in fact, many prefer it because they know they are getting a truly full-spectrum product.

Side effects are rare, but we recommend consulting a health care practitioner before using the product and reading the ingredients in order to avoid any potential allergies or sensitivities.

Drug tests do not test for specifically CBD, but in order for a product to be “full-spectrum,” it will contain trace amounts of THC which may be detected on a drug test. But, it is unlikely that a topically-applied CBD salve would register on a drug test. Topical CBD products work by interacting with receptors in the cutaneous layers of the skin. Penetration into the blood is not necessary for a localized therapeutic effect. The skin is designed to keep things out and thus the very small amount (0.3%) of THC in Full-spectrum CBD Oil makes it highly unlikely that it would show up in a blood/urine analysis.

We recommend using a quarter size dollop to start and massaging it fully into the targeted region. Sometimes it may be necessary to really lather it on and this is fine too. You can also apply it several times a day as needed.
